I've just had my very first soba lunch. Cold soba noodles with their accompanying salty/sweet dipping sauce, spring onions and vegetable tempura. It was a terribly messy meal to eat though, what with the noodles swinging all over the place, splashing droplets of sauce all over my workspace. And my breath now stinks of the pungent spring onions! But I highly recommend this meal...what I originally thought might be cold, plain and uninteresting was quite tasty indeed! Try it, dammit. You'll like it.
