These beautiful confections were sent to us by Blai's mother (thank you!). They are panellets - biscuits made mainly of ground almonds, eggs and sugar - and are a Catalan specialty for Tots Sants (All Saints Day) on October 31. They are incredibly delicious with the plain ones and the jammy ones being my particular favourites. Chocolate covered panellets are a new-fangled thing! The particularly distressing detail is that they are unavailable at any other time of the year, which means a very long wait until I can get my hands on somemore!
